Dublin

Here are a list of all the knitting groups that meet in Dublin. I have taken most of this information from the excellent site, the Dublin Knit Collective:

MONDAYS

City Centre, Dublin 2:
A weekly knit night at knitting group meets in The Cafe at the Twisted Pepper which during the day and now up to 7pm is home to 3FE or ‘Third Floor Espresso’ run by Colin Harmon, who is a lovely bloke and makes the best coffee. The venue is on Middle Abbey St – where the luas goes between Jervis and Abbey street. It’s opposite the Arnotts entrance with the cafe, and a couple of doors along from the Epicurean Food Hall.

Next meet up: TBA

Malahide
An open group of knitters and other stitchers (crochet, cross-stitch, patchwork, etc.) meet every Monday at the Malahide Library from 7-8 pm. Library is located on Main St. in Malahide, opposite the SuperValu, beside the petrol station. Come with a project or just for a chat. They are usually upstairs in the meeting room or could be in the comfy chairs in the lobby if the meeting room is double booked.

TUESDAYS

Blanchardstown, Dublin 15:
This knitting group meets in Starbucks beside the Leisureplex from 19:00 to 21:00. All are welcome! This is the group that I attend. Contact me at knitincATgmailDOTcom if you want more info.

    Hello fellow knitters,

I am looking for knitters, both beginners and experienced, to particiapte in costume making for the St. Patricks Day Festival. The idea behind this project is that we would like to get as many knitters as possible to knit a piece of patchwork each (wool will be provided), that will then be put together to make 4 capes which will be worn in the parade.
I am arranging a knitting day for the 2nd of March from 10 am – 2pm and would love as many people as possible to come along.
if you think you would be interested in this please contact me at CityFusion@stpatricksfestival.ie

Look forward to hearing from you,
    Fiona Ryan

Hi, This is a great site. May I say that It would be even better if there were more Contact numbers for the above groups so that that people could text them to see if the meeting is on before they go, or at least an email address. Some of the meetings are only on every second week and I wouldn’t want to turn up on the week they’re not there. Thanks, Rachel
