I would love to pariticipate in the group..I unfortunately live in the US….I’ve been looking for blogs from Ireland in specific, and am happy to have found you. I have ancestory from Tipperary, and I think it would be most fun for us to visit with each other through the blog, and talk of crochet…..I hope you stop over and introduce yourself…I’d love to meet you. And someday….maybe in person…I have long dreamt of visiting the land of my ancestors….hoping to meet yo soon…

      Hi Faith

Welcome to our space, we are still going strong and have a lovely little core group meeting all the time. We are in existence now a year since last November and we love it. Bookworm is our local book shop and the owner is delighted to host us there.

Would love to see you if you are ever in Tipperary or planning a trip over here, we are in Thurles.

I am looking for volunteers to help knit a blanket to break the existing Guinness Record which is 1,378.28 m² (14,835.68 ft²) and was achieved by 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day and the Nelson Mandela Foundation (both South Africa), as measured in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 9 July 2016.
I am looking for people to knit 6” squares, in any type of wool, basic garter stitch is great, and I only need around 70,000! If you say it fast it doesn’t sound too much.
This blanket is going to contain squares from all over the world (well, nearly everywhere the Internet is available), and so far the response has been wonderful.
After we (all the knitters) break the record, the blanket will divided into smaller ones and donated to the Red Cross.
This is a huge undertaking and I am asking everybody who wishes to take part to have the squares with me by 22 January 2017.
I am based in County Clare and I am also looking for volunteers to help stitch these squares together so if there any groups/individuals interested please sign up at:

Hi there, My name is Debbie and i am a knitter from Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, Ireland and would just like to mention that there is a Knitting Group who meet every Thursday morning from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Clonmel Community Resource Centre, Kickham Lodge, Kickham Street, Clonmel. The ladies in the group knit for charity, for example baby hats and cardigans for baby units in hospitals all around the country. They would welcome anyone who can knit or crochet to come along and join them. It is free of charge to come along and a great way to use up any old wool you may have to use up while also doing something positive for those who need help.

Love the website by the way, Just found it today.
